I use the free lasso tool to make selections a lot. You basically 'draw' around the figure you want to cut out. I always draw a bit further than the figure, then erase away the extra background Gives a really nice and smooth result, if I do say so myself.

I thought she used CS2? Oh well, I have that and her tutorials are just as easy to follow.

The photoshops are basicly the same anyway. I think they keep everything in the same order. Which is good.
