My latest tutorial. This will be converted for Cheshire Cat tutorials to be uploaded on the exchange, but since joining Creative Freaks has benefits, you guys are the first to see it. It will probably still be a while before this is out on the exchange. Your Photoshop field (or whatever other program you're using, though those will look different). Select Quick mask in the toolbox Select brush and edit your brush settings so you have the right size and softness of brush to work with. Colour isn't important. Brush over the parts you want to keep in colour. Touch any mistakes up with the eraser. Work very carefully, preferably zoom in on 400 % Switch to selection mode by pressing the button next to Quick Mask. The areas you have brushed over will be excluded from the selection. Desaturate your layer. Go to Image --> adjustments --> desaturate. Your endresult: the parts you put the quick mask over will not be converted to black-and-white. Experiment to see what nifty effects you can use with this technique!

Ahhh I kind of hate you right now, munchie heh kidding... great tutorial, Chess... it's actually pretty easy to get a photoshop for free where I live, but it wouldn't exactly be... well, legal (yeah, a fake one), but I think I'll save some money to get a real one.

Yeah, here too... the real one, at least. Well, I'll give GIMP another chance for now, I can't stand PhotoFiltre anymore...

Photofiltre isn't much at all. You can't cut out detailed images with it.
