A new feature on the site, that's what!
We've already got a Critique Corner for stories, but there's no reason why we can't have the same for pictures.
The purpose of this corner is very simple: You have a picture and want critiques on it. You want to know how to make it better, or just a general opinion on it.
This is not the place to post pictures you simply want to show to the world. That's what the Photo Album is for. If you enter a picture in the Critique Corner, you know and appreciate that it's going to be dissected, scrutinised, examined from all sides. Members will write commentary on it.
If you are not good at taking critique, do not post pictures here. I don't want to see anyone sulking because a member made the effort of pointing out the weak points in their picture.
Also, I would like the critiquers to give actual feedback on the picture. 'Oooh it's really pretty' is a comment you're absolutely free to give in the Photo Album. What we want here is constructive criticism.
While someone telling you your picture is pretty is of course very nice, it won't help you improve. Learning from each other is what this board is all about.

If you're giving critique:
- List what you like in the picture. (e.g.: The composition is really well done)
- List what the weaker points in the picture are. (e.g.: The placement seems a bit off, it looks like she's floating over the ground instead of standing on it)
- Give tips and hints on how to improve the weaker points, if you are able to do so. (e.g.: Your sim stands out too much from the dark background, you can make your sim darker by changing the brightness/contrast of the layer if you're using Photoshop.)
If you're being critiqued:
- Remember that people are trying to help you here, not drag you down or make fun of you.
- Do not start flaming those that take the effort and time to critique your work.
- Posting a re-worked version of your picture to show what you've changed and improved is highly recommended and will give the critiquers those warm fuzzy feelings you get after helping someone, and you the satisfaction of getting better at editing.
